Lady Jane Guthrie spent six years in a marriage without love. Now, after a year of mourning, she is ready to go out into society again. Her brother-in-law feels that she should be in mourning longer. He moved into her house along with his wife and two children, and Jane has been living the life of a servant to them for the year.

With the help of her friends, Jane dresses provocatively for a masquerade ball. There she runs into Seth Rutledge, with whom she grew up. He had fallen in love with her sister, who was title hungry and married someone else. At the ball, Seth finds the masked beauty familiar and cannot get her out of his mind. Walking in the park, with her nieces the next day, Jane runs into Seth and his blind sister, bringing back old memories. Seth had come home from war to find that his brother had died and left him in charge of his younger sister. He considers her blindness a handicap that cannot be overcome and decides to marry someone who can take care of his sister as well. Seth and Jane can't change the past but also can't stay away from each other. Seth decides that Jane will make a good wife because she cares for his sister - but he can't get his mind off the woman at the masquerade ball.

One Night With You has a cast of characters with whom readers fall in love as they struggle with events of the past. It's heartwarming to watch Seth's sister try to overcome her handicap while her brother protects her to the point of suffocation. Seth's friendship with Jane turns to passion and they realize that they can love each other, but will it be enough to conquer the past? Sophie Jordan pens a wonderful tale you won't want to put down.
