Kendra Taylor was attacked one night after running out to get a prescription that she had asked her husband Isaac to pick up for her. After spending time in the hospital recovering, she decides that she wants to re-evaluate her life direction. On some level she and Isaac each blame the other for what happened to Kendra. Kendra thinks that Isaac should have remembered to pick up the prescription and Isaac that she should have stayed home and waited for him. Both have high demand jobs and live fast paced lives.

Kendra ends up at a cabin in Tom's Brook, Virginia. It was left to her husband by his biological grandmother along with a quilt called The Lover's Knot. Isaac was adopted as a baby and his childhood was not a happy one. He wants nothing to do with his roots and is not happy that Kendra is staying at the cabin and digging into his family tree. Kendra loves the tranquility of the cabin and the people that she has met give her insight into Isaac's grandmother.

Emilie Richards pens another fantastic storyin this third in her Shenandoah Album series. Kendra's and Isaac's story is touching as they embark on repairing their marriage. Kendra finds out things about Isaac's family that he doesn't want to know at first - but he's intrigued as time goes on. Characters from previous stories reappear, making the reader feel among old friends. Though the story can stand on its own, I recommend taking in the whole series as you won't want to miss such great reads.
