Good friends, Elise Richardson and Joe Bennett, have been business partners for fifteen years. Now Elise announces she's pregnant, and is having quadruplets! Aside from being curious as to who the father is, Joe is shocked as Elise has never shown interest in wanting to start a family. Now he's worried that the company they spent so much time building may be in jeopardy. So he proposes to move in with her until just after the New Year, to help out while she's pregnant.

The very independent Elise is not too happy about this living arrangement. But she soon comes to rely on Joe for things she thought she'd never need help with. What Joe doesn't know is the reason Elise has been such a strong and self-reliant adult. Her past, which she never talks about to anyone, is a mystery to him. When she finally tells him about the family she misses every day and the tragic circumstances that took them away from her, he begins to understand the woman behind the business partner. And as he finds out what makes her tick, he also finds that he's lusting after her. Elise is having similar feelings, but attributes it to hormones. Can the two live together in a platonic relationship for the sake of their business? Or will they cross that line?

Tara Taylor Quinn does a good job of depicting a woman who beat the odds and made a success of her life despite an early tragedy. I felt the character was spot-on, and the romance that blooms between Elise and Joe makes a lot of sense. Joe's aversion to babies makes it an even more interesting situation, but he has an epiphany at the end of the story. I recommend Merry Christmas, Babies as an enjoyable seasonal romance.
