Elle Medina's best friend Maya has announced her wedding to Brad, and Elle is determined to help with the preparations. Problems arise when Maya picks a wedding gown for ninety-nine dollars and Elle ruins the Jewish conversion dinner for Brad. After meeting Brad's brother Tad at the latter event, Elle lets him borrow her apartment to crash for a little while. Now she can't get rid of him or of the wedding Rabbi who has taken a shine to her.

Elle's boyfriend Merrick has asked her to move in. She feels like her life is spiraling out of control. Merrick seems to think Elle should get her degree and dump her psychic phone business. Her apartment is invaded by Brad's brother; her neighbors hate her and avoid her like the plague. They seem to like Tad better, so it becomes her mission to befriend them all. To top it all off, she finds out that she has been secretly filmed changing in a dressing room of one of her favorite stores and the video sequence is circulating on the Internet. Elle needs to find out who filmed her - it would also be a great plus for her career if she could do so, allowing her to claim a succeessful application of psychic abilities.

True Lies of a Drama Queen is the sequel to Tales of a Drama Queen. Elle is an off the wall character who makes you laugh at her antics, while Merrick is very straight laced and wants his girlfriend to go to graduate school. The result of their interactions is a great story to kick back and relax with, to escape your own day to day pressures.
