Arthur Pendragon's influence continues to expand throughout England, despite those who seek to topple his throne and the Round Table. One of them is war chief Urien. With the help of his lover, the evil sorceress Morgaine, plans have already been set in motion to conquer the land and the people of Pont Cymryd. Elen, only daughter of the Welsh chieftain who presides over this land, is an unwilling pawn in the growing power struggle, after Urien slaughters her entire family. She becomes his war prize. While Elen has magic of her own, her talents are no match against Morgaine, who casts a spell that leaves Elen enslaved to Urien's every whim. Even so, Elen manages to alert Arthur via Merlin, who is bound to her through blood.

Sir Geriant, dispatched by Arthur to rescue Elen, quickly ascertains that stealing Urien's prize will not be easy. The spell that binds Elen to him is too powerful. Hoping to fool the war chief, Geriant disguises himself as one of Urien's men and fights in a tournament whose ultimate prize is Elen - losing means death. Though Geriant is successful, his ruse crumbles before he can whisk the lady to safety. He and Elen run for their lives. They cross a mystical bridge that takes them into an enchanted land. There, the Elvin king and queen tell them of a magical spear that will release Elen from Morgaine's enslavement. During their respite, Elen informs Geriant, that by the laws of Pont Cymryd, they are now husband and wife. This information both surprises and delights Geriant, who fell in love with Elen the moment he laid eyes on her.

But Elen soon realizes that her quest against Urien and Morgaine involves much more than simple revenge. She and Geriant see that they have both become pawns in Morgaine's elaborate plans to destroy her arch enemy, Arthur Pendragon. And they discover that Geriant and his brothers (also Arthur's knights) have ties to the evil sorceress that none of them could ever have imagined. For Camelot's Honor is the second installment in Sarah Zettel's very readable romantic fantasy series, that presents a worthy and intelligent interpretation of Arthurian legend. Fine characterizations, lyrical writing and intricate plotting make for a spellbinding journey. The next episode, due next spring, is eagerly anticipated.
