The day her son Justin was born, Milla Boone was as happy with her life as she might ever have imagined. She had a perfect baby, and a perfect man in husband David. The work they were doing in Mexico, bringing medical aid to the less fortunate, was another dream come true. When two men attacked Milla in broad daylight and ripped Justin from her arms, her perfect world was shattered. Milla barely survived, and Justin was never seen or heard from again. When she was unable to come to terms with her grief and guilt, Milla's marriage fell apart.

Milla threw herself into her new cause as founder and director of Finders, a Texas based volunteer organization that looks for the lost, especially children. Milla works endless hours not only tracking down the missing but also securing funding. One of her most generous contributors, True Gallagher, has shown more than a passing interest not only in Finders, but also in its founder. Despite Gallagher's persistence, and the urgings of friends and coworkers that she 'get a life', Milla makes it perfectly clear that finding her son is still her number one priority -- even after ten years.

When a new lead to Justin's kidnappers surfaces, Milla travels to Mexico. There she encounters the enigmatic and dangerous Diaz. No one knows his true background, nor whether he works for the government or himself. All anyone does know about him is that he is silent, lethal and as elusive as smoke. Diaz and Milla agree to work together after realizing they're after the same thing - the leader of a highly efficient kidnapping ring, based in Mexico and responsible for the disappearance of countless children.

Milla and Diaz soon find themselves targets of those who would keep their profitable sideline a secret. Within days they're on the run, one step ahead of hired assassins. Much to her disbelief Milla finds herself strongly attracted to James Diaz, a man of few words, who seems to have forgotten how to smile. And James cannot deny how his life has changed since rescuing this strong and determined woman with sad eyes. Can she and Diaz finally stop the tears of those whose children have been stolen? More importantly can they come to grips with their pasts and make a new life together?

After a few more predictable stories, veteran author Linda Howard has crafted a power house of a romantic thriller. Milla and Diaz are two of the most intense and memorable leads Howard has ever created. Her plot is timely, exciting, and dripping with her trademark sexual tension, yet also poignant, and at one point in the story truly heart-breaking. Cry No More is Linda Howard at her very best and is not to be missed.
