Sage is an unusual teenager with a family history she knows nothing about. Her adoptive parents keep her reined in and close to home, not allowed to do the activities other girls her age do.

Her isolation and innate ability to seemingly read people's thoughts and see into the future doesn't endear her to classmates. Even her parents seem scared of the sixteen-year-old, watching her like a hawk for signs of evil Sage cannot even imagine.

The plot thickens when Sage's equally mysterious aunt and uncle visit. A new boy at school, Summer, proves to be just as unusual as Sage. The two form a bond, both possessing a keen knowledge of the world around them.

As the puzzles unravel, Sage learns more about her adoptive family, who she really is, and that she and Summer have bonds that she never imagined. All the while, Sage is also just trying to navigate high school and all of its drama like any other teenager.

True to the style of V.C. Andrews' novels, Sage's Eyes is a gripping, thrilling read that captured and held my attention from cover to cover.
