rinity Ewing wants nothing more than to leave her disastrous marriage behind and start fresh. Buying a falling down old house in a picturesque Indiana town seems like the perfect new beginning for her and her young son, Micah. Once the renovations are complete any ghosts that still haunt the old Frampton place will be banished, along with the furtive looks and whispers from her new neighbours. But when a body is unearthed in the basement, Trinity's dreams of a quiet life are shattered as the secrets surrounding the old house are dredged up all over again.
t's taken half his lifetime for local contractor, Noah Benningfield, to come to terms with the loss of his first love. Twenty years ago, Lana had simply vanished, along with another local teen she'd been trying to help. Was the body Noah and Trinity discovered in the basement of her house Lana's? Would he finally find closure to the mystery and the heartache of her decades-old disappearance? And would Trinity and her rambunctious son be the bright lights that clear away the dark clouds of his troubled past?
his is the first book in a proposed trilogy and in true Walker fashion she starts things off with a bang by quickly establishing her characters, setting an atmosphere, along with a decades-old secret that may well tear apart the town of Madison.
here's also the added bonus of the hot attraction between Trinity and Noah. Each is trying to come to terms with their own turbulent past, especially Noah, and neither is looking for a relationship. But there's no denying their immediate attraction. Even so, Noah finds it hard to let go of Lana and Trinity works hard to deny that Noah is exactly what she's been looking for her whole life.
