Roxy and her younger sister Emmie could not be more different. Emmie is a sweet, good girl, always obeying her parents. Roxy, the polar opposite, is rebellious and defiant, obeying no one. But then again, there is an eight year age difference between the girls. By the time she's sixteen, Roxy's stern father has had enough of her rebellious ways and kicks Roxy out of the house for good.

Banished from her comfortable life in Manhattan, Roxy quickly learns what life on the streets is like while living in a scummy, scary motel. At her wits' end and almost out of the money she had secretly saved, Roxy is about to return home, admitt defeat, and ask for her father's forgiveness, a thought that makes her sick. Then she meets Bob.

Bob offers an opportunity of a lifetime beyond Roxy's wildest dreams, the life of a Brittany girl. As a Brittany girl Roxy would be a high-class escort, a western Geisha girl of sorts. Intense training in lavish surroundings will soon have Roxy dressing in the finest clothes, current on the latest events and up on the finance world, as well as being well versed in flattering and sometimes even seducing her clients, the world's wealthiest men.

Seeming to finally have it made and be free from her father, Roxy is rocked by a series of tragic events that shake her to her core. Will she give up her money and lavish lifestyle to reunite with Emmie and the rest of her family or are the people of the Brittany girl world her family now?

I must admit my introduction to author V.C. Andrews was a good one. I could barely put this book down and would have read it all in one day ... if only the day had a few more hours! New readers or those already following the Forbidden series will get sucked into the world of Roxy and her story. Happy reading!
