He's handsome, smart, witty, and an excellent dancer. At a ball he finds himself entangled with a lady, who not only attracts his interest, but seems to be holding many secrets. Lady Maggie Windham's reticule has gone missing. In it were letters that could hurt the people she loves. So she decides to hire Mr. Hazlit to investigate and find her reticule. But the fire that smolders between them pulls him into danger also. And the ongoing investigation only fans the flames, making the heat almost unbearable - possibly someone will get burnt. Grace Burrowes has succeeded in building a world of witty, intelligent and engaging characters. Her tale is intertwined with intrigue and the magic of romance, set in an era where everything is supposed to be prim and proper. I loved Lady Maggie's Secret Scandal.
