Vampire Maker is the fourth in the Victor Decimus vampire series. Charles, haunted by past deeds, has found a new vocation as priest in a local parish. He believes that God has talked to him and cured his sexual appetite. Charles also believes that he can save Kyle from Victor, who seems to have a strong hold over him.

Victor is a vampire who has always denied the executioners of the Dark Kingdom. Victor has Kyle in thrall - he's not quite a vampire but not exactly human either. Kyle listens and obeys his maker. The Dark Kingdom is afraid that Victor will become a vampire maker, which will create an imbalance. Charles' attempts to save Kyle make him a threat to Victor, not only to his relationship but also to his undead existence.

I found it an interesting book to say the least, very different from the usual vampire story. Being a vampire fan I found it a little creepy and weird. Though not to my own taste, it's well written and with a strong plot.
