In late April of 1829 in London, England, Lady Justine Fedora Palmer's father, the 6th earl of Marwood, is jailed for debt. Justine decides to plead her case to Radcliff Edwin Morton, the 4th duke of Bradford. She writes a letter, in order to bargain with him. Bradford replies with a proposal of marriage. If she accepts, all her father's debts will be paid, so he can be set free.

Complications arise, and the debt increases. Unable to pay the full amount, Bradford is worried that the marriage won't take place. But things have a way of working out. Justine and Radcliff are wed, and their new life begins. There are many ups and downs throughout the marriage, to put it mildly. Justine and Radcliff have a very steamy connection. Almost too hot to touch. Can they survive everything that is thrown at them? Will love ever enter the picture? And can they keep from being a scandal to the English ton?

I enjoyed this book. It was light and comical in some parts, while very scandalous (hence the name) in others. It's a book that is a fast enjoyable ride. I am sure if you read this book (in which the sex is quite explicit), you will be sure to blush a few times.
