She may have convinced herself she's finally found her true niche running the underworld assassin's guild, but Seminus demon Sinead Donnelly secretly yearns to get closer to her three recently discovered elder brothers. But that would mean she'd have to give up some of the hard won freedom she's worked decades to achieve. Soon the hunter becomes the hunted once again after Sin accidentally creates a lethal werewolf virus that decimates the Were population.

Conall Dearghul has been ordered to apprehend Sin to face charges, and quite possibly death for the havoc she's wreaked with her unwieldy talent of causing death. At first Conall is determined to carry out his mission, but he soon discovers that Sin has far more layers than he or anyone else ever imagined. When enemies from various other factions move in, Conall and Sin must set aside their differences to stop these new threats - and if they survive - help Sin gain the acceptance and find the love she's always craved.

Despite a rushed ending, Ione does a great job tying up most of the loose ends in this final instalment in her entertaining Demonica series. The continuity sometimes falters due her inclusion of too much back-story from the previous books. This helps readers who haven't read the first two instalments but for those of us who have, it slows down the action and Con and Sin's romance.

Ione isn't leaving fans of her dark imagination hanging. The lead character of her upcoming Lords of Deliverance series (Ione's take on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse) does a nice turn as a secondary character here and rides into action in book one of Ione's new series in spring 2011.
