Kylie Gray's life is not going well as the story opens on Fawn Island in the Pacific Northwest - she's recently lost her job and her fiancé just dumped her (at her own Halloween party) for her younger sister. Now something draws her into an antique shop, where she's enchanted by an old snow globe. The shop owner tells its backstory. In 1880, it was given to a toymaker, grieving for his wife's death in childbirth, by his sister - and something in it changed his life. Though the globe is beyond her current means, Kylie splurges ... and soon she sees something in it too, a scene that draws her into a meeting with her own toymaker - who turns out to be her Mr. Perfect. Kylie passes on the globe to her friend Suzanne, who's lost track of what's important in life and puts her job in real estate ahead of her own happiness and that of her husband and small daughter. After Suzanne's life is changed for the better,she passes the globe on to their other best friend, Alison, and she too benefits. If you're looking for a charming tale that goes down as easily and smoothly as cocoa and Christmas cookies, then you'll adore The Snow Globe, which would also make a welcome holiday gift for a good friend.
