When Shala Winters agrees to head to Precious to prepare a marketing campaign to help put the dying Texas town back on the map, she has no idea that taking a few innocent pictures will put her directly into the crosshairs of a killer. Especially since the first twenty-four hours in town involve trying to get her confiscated camera back from the uncooperative and incredibly stubborn clutches of Sheriff Sky Gomez. How was Shala to know that taking pictures during a Native American ritual pow-wow was strictly verboten?

Despite Shala's important role in the revitalization of Precious, Sky isn't about to cut the cute photojournalist any sort of a break. Rules are rules and he is determined to enforce them. Not that he minds his verbal sparring with the feisty Shala. Despite his foster father's insistence that Sky and Shala are soul mates, Sky wants nothing to do with a permanent relationship, not after the horrible incident that marred his childhood and left him orphaned. But his well-laid plans to keep the spirited photojournalist at arm's length go awry when she's targeted by a killer who's even more determined to get his hands on Shala’s confiscated Nikon.

If you want a fun, sexy and lighthearted read to while away your next long weekend, then Shut Up and Kiss Me fits that bill. Sky and Shala are a well-rounded, well-suited and sexy pair, matched by a strong cast of secondaries, whose own issues add even more flair - and laugh out loud humour - to this exuberant and breezy contemporary romance.
