If you asked Emily to describe Kevin, she would say he is solid, and sweet and dull. For example, when Kevin proposed to Emily, he told her that an IRA would be a better investment than an engagement ring. And in his spare time, he enjoys reading Sound Investments For The Careful Planner. For the most part, Emily is happy with her marriage. But lately, Kevin has been pressuring her to have a baby and move to a house in the suburbs. Emily has no interest in either, which makes her wonder if she married the right man. When Emily first meets David Keller, she is immediately attracted to the 'sexy young reporter,' and vice-versa. Emily does her best to ignore her feelings for David, telling herself that she could never cheat on her husband. But as Kevin continues to drive her crazy with his persistent demands about motherhood and moving, Emily's marriage slowly begins to deteriorate and she eventually seeks refuge in David's arms. Emily is a character who made this reviewer laugh out loud, as she states that her 'biological clock is a cheap knock-off, a ten-dollar Rolex sold by a guy on the street wearing a trench coat.' Author Lauren Fox has written a debut novel that promises to be a great summer read.
