Quinn Thompson returns home, having spent the months after his wife's death consumed with guilt over taking her love for granted. His daughter, Alex, who feels that he cheated her of her last chance to say goodbye to her mother, no longer wants to be a part of his life. Deciding to sell the family home, he sets about trying to weed through years of memories first.

When a storm creates serious damage to the house, he goes outside to survey the property. Quinn meets a sad Maggie Dartman, checking out the destruction that the storm did to her own home. Maggie has her own grief to work through and is slowly healing. Quinn hires Jack Adams to do his repairs. He discovers that Jack has a secret, one that Quinn can help him with. After a short time getting to know one another, the trio become friends and Friday nights together become a habit. Meanwhile, Quinn's plans proceed - to sell his house and live on a yacht that is being built for him. When it is done, what will become of the Friday nights the threesome have come to love?

In Miracle, Danielle Steel writes with feeling a story of love, hope, and forgiveness. Both Maggie and Quinn need to overcome their own grief so that they can move on to a better future. Jack brings them together and shows them that they can make their own happiness.
