Carole Mathews' With or Without You proves that you can find Mister Right in the most unexpected places. Lyssa Allen is a copy editor for magazines My Baby and My Divorce. She is also obsessed with becoming pregnant, and she and her boyfriend Jack have tried everything possible to make it happen. Alas, after multiple IVF's, they still have not conceived. Jack is getting particularly frustrated, since sex has become more of a chore than fun for him.

The story begins with Jack telling Lyssa he wants space, and leaving her. Secretly, he has been cheating on her with a tough as nails associate from work who is Lyssa's polar opposite. Every guy wants to be with this no nonsense girl, Neve. She is sure of herself and very well spoken, everything that Jake thinks he wants. When they move in together, Jake is on cloud nine, but what he doesn't realize is that Neve has plans of her own. For weeks after Jake's departure, Lyssa is a basket case. Every little thing makes her cry and nobody - neither coworkers nor family nor friends - can pull her out of it. Then, suddenly, she decides that she is going to do something adventurous and exciting to get her mind off her troubles. After arriving at her destination in Nepal, she meets an athletic and sexy guide ...

The rest you're going to have to read for yourself. With or Without You is a great story, showing that as much as it seems that guys are the center of a girl's universe, some women are able to escape the stereotypes and take the world by storm.
