alker keeps the mystery and creep factor high in this second instalment of her
Secrets and Shadows
series, slowly prying open additional revelations of the town's scandalous secret.
he beginning of the book was rather slow moving as Adam and Lana are reacquainted and come to terms with their attraction, which is sizzling hot. Despite Lana's early promise that she's home to make those responsible pay for their sins, she's initially too reticent in laying out the truth to Adam, let alone the authorities. Once the momentum of the story picks up though, it barrels ahead to a satisfying cliffhanger. Here's hoping that all will finally be revealed in the final instalment,
Darker Than Desire
, due out in early 2015.
