Archer Portmaine is an investigator for the Crown and he needs to unravel a potential assassination plot against one of the royals. It is a very dangerous mission but Archer seems to enjoy the intrigue.

During his investigation he meets Morgan James who is beautiful and smart. Morgan is convinced that she is not fit to marry due to a hearing disability. On the other hand, Archer finds her a great asset because she able to see and pick things up that most cannot. Most treat her as if she is invisible and this is helping Archer solve the mystery. But Morgan is doing more than unraveling the mystery, she is unraveling all the strings around Archer's heart.

Grace Burrowes offers fans an enjoyable and engrossing novella which also ties up loose ends in her Windhams books. She interweaves all her characters so that readers feel familiar and included in the stories. Grace Burrowes is the queen of Historical Romance.
