Elijah Harrison is an artist who has worked hard his whole life to become what he is today. He is a well known portraitist who has accepted a commission to paint Viscount Rothgreb's grandchildren. This will be a challenge for Elijah since he has never painted children before. He needs this commission in order to become nominated to the Royal Academy of Artists. This will allow him to return home with pride, after nine years away.

Elijah did not bargain on meeting the very lovely Lady Jenny Windham, in her own right a budding artist. Lady Jenny offers to help him with the children while he paints in exchange for art lessons. Not only does she turn out to be an artistic genius but also a breath of fresh air for Elijah. He needs to keep his hands on the paintbrush and his mind on the canvas but Lady Jenny makes it very hard.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, particularly the dialogue between Elijah and Jenny. Sometimes it was funny, sometimes serious, but always just plain good. Grace Burrowes creates a great chemistry between the two, leaving room for the imagination as well. Some love scenes were hot and steamy but it wasn't over done. this author never disappoints and I have been reading her work for years.
