Kate Chilton is a widow with two growing boys who discovers that her late husband had a mistress whom she knew nothing about. Hurt, confused and very angry, Kate sets about seducing a playboy millionaire to prove to her dead husband and to herself that she was worth holding onto, and that he should not have considered a divorce. Her plan works too well and she finds herself involved with Randall Johnson, who in turn seems intrigued by her.

Money problems raise their heads and her husband's partner shows more of an interest in her life than just being friends and a father figure to her boys. The protagonists seem to find themselves in situations where they just can't keep their hands off each other Their first encounter takes place almost before the reader gets a chance to know the players and the lust continues throughout the book. The love scenes are well-crafted and the reader gets caught up in the urgency the characters feel.

The final chapters are a complete surprise and kept me gasping as I read them. Great suspense. A Bridge to Love is the first title from this author. It's hard to believe, as it is very well-written and has none of the hesitancy often found in debut efforts. I'm sure we'll see more of Nancy Herkness.
