akayla abhors violence. In fact it makes her physically ill. Nevertheless, she finds herself in an underground fight club, helping her friend out. And she has a hard time taking her eyes off these massive men, especially the one called Torment. He turns out to be the club's owner and offers her a job as club medic.
oney is one thing Makayla needs right now because she has massive student debts to pay off. And how can she say no to this beautiful man who exudes power and whose predatory gaze excites her in more ways than one? Makayla finds herself falling for this great big hunk of man, especially when she sees his gentle side, his caring side, and even that dangerous side that makes him an addiction to her.
ven though this romance skirts the edges of erotica and the sexual scenes are quite explicit, the story is actually pretty good. I am not normally a fan of this genre, nor do I blush when I read it, but I did fall in love with the characters and appreciated how they both fought their inner demons. I also liked how Torment had a hidden side, wrapped up in this macho persona running a fight club.
