Dylan Oswin (aka Oz) is a high powered producer who knows how to get things done. The only thing he hasn't been able to do is get his small son back. Donal was kidnapped over a year ago and everything is at a dead end. Then a desperate Oz gets an anonymous tip on his cell phone to find the lost ex-child rock star, Syrene. He locates her in a small town and learns that she will never sing again and wants to stay out of the public eye for good. Persistence usually pays off for Oz, but this time he finds himself falling for Syrene's charms.

Syrene has built herself a small anonymous world. She believes with her entire being that her voice can cause great damage to others. But her world has been broken into by Oz, who seems immune to her voice. She doesn't understand why he believes that she is the key to his son's rescue. But she finds herself letting Oz get closer, something she hasn't allowed before. And she is discovering that maybe, just maybe, she can trust him. But breaking her vow to not sing again is not on the agenda.

The Lure of Song and Magic is different and refreshing. Some parts are very sad. I enjoyed the dialogue between the two main characters, bickering with a sense of purpose. All in all it is well written and not overdone in the romance department, though the love scenes are steamy.
