Lady Sophie Windham is at the station, holding Jolene's infant son as the latter heads to the privy. The snow storm is building and the baby is fussing. Beside herself, she has no idea how to calm this baby down. A handsome man comes to her rescue, offering to take the baby from her. This gentleman helps her to her house and shows her how to deal with the infant.

Sophie now understands that the mother isn't coming back. All she wanted was some time to herself and now a baby and a handsome gentleman stand in the way - which could lead to her complete ruin.

Vim Charpentier is not feeling the Christmas spirit at all. His estate is in ruins and a snowstorm has left him stranded. He spies a young woman struggling with an infant and intervenes. What Vim doesn't expect is his growing attraction to Sophie. She has awakened his soul in some strange way. After Sophie's brothers come to whisk her away, some of Vim's painful memories stir. Sophie has a Christmas wish, and Vim wishes Christmas would go away.

This is another Grace Burrowes masterpiece that hits all the heartstrings. It's a lovely story of passion and unexpected love. It touches base with family values and morals, beginning with friendship between strangers. It makes you wish Christmas was always like this.
