Mo is short for Moonflower Freedom Breeze Joplin Duvall-Wenstein. This is a secret Mo keeps from any new acquaintance, at least until her parents show up. She manages to shrug it off when her mother talks her apartment manager out of a key to her apartment and goes in to organize her cabinets by throwing away whatever she considers junk food; or calls her at work to talk about her colon; or even walks into her apartment while she's having sex.

Never mind the number of relationships that come to a screeching halt after her new guy meets her free-spirited parents. She knows they love her, but they've been smothering her for too long. Now she'd like to try normal so she drives half way across the country while they're out of town, without leaving them her new address.

Grundy, Alaska is more than she expects. Mo makes friends, gets a job as a cook in the only restaurant and finds love. How can dating a werewolf be worse than living with her own family?

There are the usual scenes where Cooper and Mo hate each other despite Cooper saving her from a rapist/robber and Mo prying a bear trap off Cooper's leg when she finds him naked on her front porch. Eventually they fall into each other's arms to the chagrin of the park ranger who's also fallen for Mo. Meanwhile, a neighbor is attacked by a wolf and college age campers go missing. Mo worries because the whole town is ready to shoot any wolf they see. She's sure the attacker is a rogue werewolf, certainly not Cooper.

This typical, but funny, love story is told in first person by Mo whose sassy voice keeps you entertained while turning pages.
