acey Lancaster is not happy with her life. She doesn't seem to be able to tell her boss that she wants a raise and she has also found out that her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her. Her Abyssinian cat Cleo seems to be the only one who listens and does not judge.
he arguments next door at Lacey's neighbor's irritate her until one day she storms over to tell Jack Walker to knock it off. In the meantime his cat (named Dog) sneaks into Lacey's apartment and has his way with Cleo. Lacey is furious, especially when she finds out that Cleo is pregnant by the alley cat. She demands that Jack help pay the vet bills and find homes for half the litter.
ack has been trying to get to know Lacey since he moved in so he feels like the cats brought them together. Lacey finds out that his constant arguments were not with a girlfriend but with his sister, because he does not trust her boyfriend.
is an older novella by Debbie Macomber. It is a short cute story that will not take long to read. Jack and Lacey start off not knowing each other very well, but as they fall in love readers will enjoy the warm and fuzzy romance.
