We loved Keith Baker's last book, Hickory Dickory Dock, so we were looking forward to his next release. This fun picture book teaches basic counting concepts in an original way, so much so that children may not even realize that they're learning a little something as they enjoy the story.

Several smiling, fuzzy potatoes count their way up to ten and back again, meeting up with a crow, getting involved in a little tic tac toe, getting buried in snow, running into Watermelon Moe, etc.. You get the picture.

The story is delightful, the rhythm works perfectly, and the illustrations are jubilant. This is definitely one of those books that is better experienced than described; my four-year old bursts into giggles each time we read it, and that is enough for me.
