Terri Persons is back with a new thriller. Her first, Blind Spot, proved to be a winner, and Blind Rage, second in the Agent Bernadette Saint Clare series, matches it.

As you might remember from Blind Spot, Saint Clare's identical twin sister died, bequeathing her ability to see through others' eyes to Bernadette. When that other person is a killer, Bernadette is sorely tried. A rash of suicides of young, troubled college women occurs in the Twin Cities; Saint Clare uses her gift to see a killer at work.

Authorities question her judgment. But when several girls are found dead in their bathtubs, obviously victims of murder, she is brought in to help. The real twist in these Saint Clare novels, apart from those revealing eyes, is Bernadette's relationship with her late partner. He haunts her basement office in Saint Paul, advising her on investigations. Her live partner could become a love interest – though that might not make for a good working relationship.

Blind Rage is fast-paced with plenty of suspects. The action ricochets off the pages to cause late-night discomfort, creating a need for locks and bright lights. Bernadette is not fearless but continually places herself at risk when she feels it's necessary. She is as full of doubts, as we all are, but manages to function on a high plane in spite of this. Finding her gift hard to use, she nevertheless forces herself, when she feels someone's life may be at stake.

If you're looking for a good read with a plot that twists and turns, and a dénouement that will surprise, you won't go wrong with Blind Rage.
