New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's life is full of macho men. Trenton cop Joe Morelli is Stephanie's sometimes fiancé. Ranger, a mystery man, helps Stephanie bring in the worst of the bad guys. Now there's Diesel who is not only a dimpled hottie, but has something extra. Something like super powers, although Stephanie isn't sure just what those powers are. And then there's Bob, the dog, who might not be considered macho, but can eat his way through a living room couch.

Times are slow and Diesel has the one bounty listed in hiding from one of his unnatural acquaintances, Bernie, who is sure Annie Hart is the reason his wife kicked him out. Diesel agrees to turn Annie over to Stephanie as soon as he finds her tormenter. Annie has a request though. Annie is a Relationship Coach and while she is in hiding, all Stephanie has to do is to solve Annie's clients' relationship problems before Valentine's Day.

This is the second Between the Numbers novel. Plum met Diesel in the 2002 Christmas Novel, Visions of Sugar Plums. These novels are shorter than the numbers novels, more like dessert than the whole meal, but deliciously funny.

2nd Review by Mary Ann Smyth:

Plum Lovin' is a shorter than usual addition to Janet Evanovich's series featuring bounty hunter extraordinaire Stephanie Plum. Though its length is disappointing, any of Stephanie Plum's exploits are satisfying as well as fun.

This time, Stephanie is hooked up with Diesel who is an unmentionable. That tag is never explained but adds to the mystique that is Diesel. Annie Hart is a relationship expert who has had the misfortune of being arrested, and so can't help some of her clients have a wonderful Valentine's Day. She has skipped bail – so she makes a deal with Stephanie that she will surrender if Stephanie will see that Valentine's Day is as rewarding as she has assured her clients it will be. The ensuing travail - with Diesel watching Stephanie's every move - is as much fun as are all of Evanovich's books about the inept bounty hunter. Her sense of humor fills every page with outrageous happenings. Lula, ex-ho and at times Stephanie's right hand girl, is a trip all her own.

What fun. Don't miss it. If you have a day that just doesn't seem to go right, read one of Evanovich's novels and enjoy. Nothing Stephanie does seems to go right but it all works out in the end - even her relationships with two very different but adoring hunks.
