Annabel Karmel's cookbook is a treat on two levels: Firstly, we learn not to be afraid of having our youngsters dabble in the kitchen, and secondly, the recipes look positively yummy, especially for the younger crowd! There is nothing nicer than having your children help out in the kitchen, and Karmel's recipes ensure that you don't take on too difficult a task.

With great photographs, parents and/or caregivers are taken step-by-step through her easy, but not unsavoury, recipes. A nice section introduces the children to all the kitchen gadgets they might need, with hints on how to perform tasks such as grating cheese, crushing garlic, whipping egg whites and separating eggs (something that doesn't always work out successfully for even the most seasoned chef!)

All these Annabel Karmel recipes contain wholesome ingredients, but the end results have been achieved with flair beautiful Lettuce Boats, Easy Cheesy Bread Rolls, Little Pita Pizzas, Chicken Dippers (with a couple of different sauces), Chicken Satay Skewers, and many more ... what kids wouldn't like to eat these luscious meals, that taste all the better for having made them themselves?

The Toddler Cookbook is a fun, nicely illustrated and easy to read recipe book for the younger child, with interesting but not overwhelming end results. I can't wait to get the grandkids into my kitchen!
