It's so frustrating when your entourage can't get your title right, but instead call you by silly names like Buttercup, Giggly Goose, Little Lamb or Sweet Gumdrop. That's the problem that faces the small star of Karen Katz's delightful - and beautifully illustrated - Princess Baby.

It begins, 'Why doesn't anyone ever call me by my REAL name?' The toddler explains why she is not any of the labels inflicted on her, and then makes clear how she perceives herself in her kingdom of happy stuffed animals, where 'Everything is just the way I like it' until the silly name calling starts again. She insists on her real name - and why ever not?

Karen Katz has a talent for empathy, which is manifest in this latest endearing picture book, Princess Baby. All small monarchs will revel in it - and it might teach their parents a thing or two about etiquette too!
