A basketful of flower petals, a new dress in blue with a bow-tie sash, and a ring of daisies on her red hair, and Daisy Jane is prepared to walk down the aisle. Daisy has been asked by her babysitter Allie to be the flower-girl in her wedding.

Daisy loved Allie as her best sitter, as they played games of Superheroes, Princesses, and Brides. Even Mr. Moon the cat took part in the games and dress-up. The wedding takes place outdoors, as Daisy proudly walks in front of the bride and her dad, dropping petals on the pathway for Allie to walk on. The wind begins to blow, thunder sounds - 'BA-boom!' - and the sky opens up to release rain - 'Drip. Plip, plip, plip!' More problems arise when the electricity goes out. Can Daisy save the day?

In light verse-form, first-person narrative, Megan McDonald tells Daisy Jane's story as the Best-Ever Flower Girl. Claudine Gevry's illustrations - in warm colors and rounded forms - complement McDonald's story in mood and tone. Daisy Jane Best-Ever Flower Girl! will delight children as a perfect Step Into Reading® 3 chapter book.
