On the other hand, he maintains, 'that for me to argue that something simply isn't real because I haven't seen it is foolish ... science tells us of manifold phenomena that exist beyond the realm of our senses ... so much that we can't see with the naked eye'. In his latest book, Asfar has compiled a collection of intriguing and spooky tales from ghost hunters across North America - he asks readers to follow as he travels through some of the continent's haunted landscapes. Chapter One deals with Historical Hauntings. It discusses the visions of the famous Emmanuel Swedonborg, looks at ghosts that haunt the Birdcage Theatre in Tombstone Arizona, and at the many ghost voices in Gettysburg. Chapter Two - Paranormal Alert - looks at a haunted heritage house in Vancouver, and at a ghost hunting couple's frightening encounter with angry spirits. Chapter Three - Unsolved Mysteries - covers unearthing the spirits of Grant's Inn in Ontario, and Sean Snyder's search for spirits in the Tamaqua Elks Club. Additional stories discuss many anonymous ghost hunters who love looking for ghosts but hate the stigma attached to their pastime. And in Chapter Four - Mission Accomplished - a skeptical MTV producer invites ghost hunters to participate in a paranormal reality show, where the Demons of Connecticut turn so unruly that a higher power is called in for an exorcism. There's even a helpful glossary that gives thumbnail definitions of ghost hunter's lingo. Ghost Hunters: Real Stories of Paranormal Investigations offers an interesting and entertaining look at real ghost hunting.
