allie Anson, fresh from a failed relationship with fellow curate Adam, looks forward with trepidation to her posting as Curate of All Saints', Paddington. She is aware that women are not readily accepted by the men within the Anglican Church. While the congregations seem to be slowly accepting the change, some clerics are viciously open in their opposition. When a murder occurs and her good friend Frances Cherry (an ordained priest) is accused of the crime, Callie completely forgets Adam in her attempts to help Frances.
nglophiles will be satisfied with the quickly moving action which takes place in London. Mystery fans will delight in the plot's twists and turns. Those interested more in the characters will be easily satisfied by Charles' finely drawn individuals, some of whom you will love to love and others to hate.
is a very good read. It is Kate Charles' second mystery in this excellent series,
being the first. Don't miss either.
