She's determined on new adventures, and wonders if she's cut out for casual sex. Anna's friend Danny tells her it's not her style. While Anna wonders what she's missing, her divorced parents get briefly entangled again. Samantha diets fanatically and is frustrated by Dee's blooming, friendship (based on a shared interest in mysticism) with her pregnant young stepmother, Poppy (they plan to name the poor baby 'Ruby Hummingbird'). And the unlikely duo of nice guy Adam and the previously poisonous Cammie continue a hot but somewhat jinxed romance. After Anna takes up her father's offer to check out an incredibly upscale Mexican resort, Las Casitas, she takes surfing lessons from sexy Kai. He tells Anna that her brain synapses fire overtime, and teaches her to 'just be in your body. Be the wave.' Sam shows up, fleeing her home life's complications. She and Anna share the wrong kind of adventure, though one in which Sam finally meets someone who's interested in her for herself. As usual, it's fun to read about the lifestyles of the rich, famous, and dysfunctional. Level-headed Anna takes it all in, thinks for herself, but loosens up a little too this time. As the episode ends, Anna finally succeeds in surfing at Zuma Beach, having learned the key lesson that 'Life, love, boys - it was all about balance.'
