Joe Grey, Dulcie and Kit return in Cat Cross Their Graves, Shirley Rousseau Murphy's eleventh mystery featuring the sleuthing felines. As to be expected, this novel is fun, entertaining, fast-paced, and almost believable. After all, cats can't talk. Can they?

Aging film star Patty Rose (living in Molina Point, California) is shot to death. Kit is a witness, but it's not easy to get the authorities' attention when you're a cat. The plot gets complicated when a child's body is found buried in a local backyard. Also, a twelve year-old girl is living in a hidden corner of a library basement - and for good reason.

The foster care system takes a drubbing. Does no one look at the set-up from a child's point of view? But in spite of the mayhem, Cat Cross Their Grave displays human concern for one's fellow man ... or cat, as the case may be.
