For fans of The Princess Diaries series, Meg Cabot has created a holiday tale that is both heartwarming and laugh-out-loud funny. Princess Mia is thoroughly excited. Lilly and Michael are coming to Genovia for Christmas!

But as with anything in Mia's life, whatever can go wrong definitely does go wrong. Lilly flirts with multiple guys and shows little respect for palace protocol. Mia is thrilled to have time to spend with Michael, but every moment seems to be taken up with babysitting young royals, holiday parties, tree lighting, as well as some wacky unplanned events. Can Mia find the perfect Christmas gift for Michael? After her disastrous Hannukah gift, she needs to come up with something spectacular. Will Christmas be all Mia has dreamed?

This short holiday book is a perfect gift for Princess Diaries aficionados, ideal to bridge the gap for those anxiously awaiting the sixth book in the series, Princess in Training, due out next spring. There are many truly hilarious scenes, including ones involving cats, and another about a cruise ship disaster. But as with everything, Mia manages to weather even the most difficult of situations with aplomb. This book is a fabulous combination of humor and heart. The funny incidents occur regularly, yet always come across as highly original.

Meg Cabot's writing style is unique and will appeal to a wide range of readers. Even those unfamiliar with the series will love The Princess Present, and will be clamoring for more of Mia. The tongue-in-cheek references to the Princess Diaries movies add to the hilarity and will endear readers even more to this off-the-wall princess.
