Barbara Smith presents a wonderful collection of tales of the unexplained, geared just for kids. Houses are often considered some of the spookiest places to visit, and children are naturally drawn to them, especially when the city, town or street where they live, has a haunted house. Take a tour with the author and listen closely as she tells these terrifying tales.

A boy and his mom run from their trailer after hearing chilling sounds inside, in Trailer Tale. In The Farmhouse Ghosts, a happy young couple have just moved into their new farmhouse when they're scared off by two mean and nasty spirits. In Screaming Skull, the Lomas family find an old skull in their barn, only to discover that its owner never rests. Katie finds a wonderful doll house that she wants to call her own, but soon learns that something evil lurks within, that makes her playtime Nice and Stinky. And in Lesson Learned, Andrea discovers it's not wise to run across the graves in the local cemetery.

That's just a small sample of this spooky tour of Horribly Haunted Houses. Enjoy the rest of this scary set of tales. But before you go to sleep tonight, make sure nothing strange is lurking under your bed to interrupt your reading.
