In this fifth in the W.I.T.C.H. series, the Guardians all must deal with repercussions from their astral drops' behavior in their absence on Metamoor, while they also try to come to terms with the discovery of their friend Elyon's perfidy, in episode #4, The Fire of Friendship.

Irma's mom pushes her into her worst nightmare (a date with 'skinny, bespectacled Martin Tubbs'), which turns out to be unforgettable after a real reptile shows up in the dino museum. When the five 'superbabes' head there after hours to investigate, they encounter Elyon again, hear her side of the story, and end up exiled in a medieval work of art. There they fend off locals' fear of witches, learn more Metamoorian history, and defeat a monster.

The Last Tear is great fun, one of the best in the series - I especially enjoyed seeing the reactions of bully Uriah and his thugs to meeting real monsters, and envied Will her ability to chat with electronic gadgets.
