This is the second book in The Keeper's Chronicles. After the usual series of misunderstandings and doubts common to lovers, Claire and Dean finally get together. The impact of their union, along with some prior meddling by Claire's powerful sister Diana, brings a very confused angel into being. His appearance (set by a teenage girl) includes a male body with all the requisite equipment. Of course, the balance needs to be maintained, so an equally disturbed demon manifests in a female teen body and the comedy begins.

Claire and Diana are Keepers who 'maintain the structural integrity of the barrier between the worlds' or in simpler terms 'mend the holes in the fabric of the universe so bad things don't get through.' Dean is a Bystander so clean-living that 'the ultimate force of evil couldn't even convince him to drop his underwear on the floor.' Though the Keepers take their roles very seriously (at least Claire does) the author has fun enough for all, and Claire's acerbic and ageing cat Austin injects a hilarious running dialogue ... 'I'm the cat. I do comfort when needed and color commentary. I don't deal with metaphysical rifts in the fabric of the universe, and I don't fetch. Live with it.'

If you haven't found your way to this funny series yet, then pick up the first book Summon the Keeper and jump into Huff's world. It's light on the horror, heavy on the humor - the kind of escapist reading that will keep you chuckling.
