is a police procedural set in Denmark where Detective Louise Rick has just taken charge of a new Mobile Task Unit, to be assigned the country's most difficult cases. She has a new team and doesn't yet know their strengths and weaknesses.

heir first case is that of the murder of recently widowed innkeeper Dorthe Hyllested in her inn's restaurant in Tasinge. Local police assume robbery-murder but it turns out to be something else. The main puzzler in the case is the discovery of a hidden nursery in the childless innkeeper's upstairs apartment. Who was the child and where is he or she now?

his requires Louise to work with her former fiancé, Eik, in Missing Persons, leaving readers with a second puzzle, as to why they broke up. There's another death and they discover that the inn was a front for male prostitution and abuse. They find and then lose the missing child again. It's a dark yet intriguing mystery.
