Good Dog, Bad Cop: K Team #4    by David Rosenfelt Order:  USA  Can Minotaur, 2023 (2023) Hardcover, CD, e-Book     Reviewed by Hilary Williamson Good Dog, Bad Cop follows Citizen K-9 as the fourth in David Rosenfelt's K Team series, a spinoff from his Andy Carpenter cozies, featuring many of the same characters - Andy, ex-cop Laurie Carpenter, Marcus,as ex-cop Corey Douglas, and ex-police dog Simon Garfunkel. In the previous episode, Paterson PD Homicide Captain Pete Stanton hired the K Team to investigate cold cases. This time, they look into the death of Corey's friend and mentor, Jimmy Dietrich. After his retirement, his body and that of Susan Avery were pulled from the Passaic River. Nothing was proven but rumors of murder-suicide persist. Corey intends to clear Jimmy's name. Jimmy had been a friend of Susan and her husband Danny (also a cop). Danny was murdered execution style while off duty and his case was also unsolved - could they be connected? They dig up another related murder. Then a hit man goes after Corey. While this is going on, Corey keeps contemplating the big M (not the murder one, the other) word with respect to Dani - after all, she's perfect for him. The K-Team end up with a bunch of puzzle pieces they have trouble fitting together, involving multiple murders and cyber-terrorism. We know they will get there of course and it's always fun watching this engaging group of investigators find their way to the truth.
