Tracy's mystery series featuring LAPD Detective Margaret Nolan. Damaged veteran Sam Easton continues to play a part as do Margaret's wealthy colleague Remy Beaudreau and Sam's friend, musician Melody Traeger. This episode opens on a double murder in Santa Barbara - David Baum and Kira Tanner are shot. Then we catch up with our leads as they catch up with family. Sam has been offered a consulting position with LAPD SWAT and is considering it, as well as an offer from his former commanding officer, now running for Congress. Beverly Hills Wodehouse International Talent Agency exec Seth Lehman takes a call from his client, Evan Hobbes, who claims that a video of him involved in child pornography is a deepfake. Unfortunately for him, it's 'guilty until proven innocent these days.' Soon afterwards, Hobbes' body is found in a Malibu rockslide - accident, suicide or murder? Evan worked for David Baum - are the deaths connected? Another one quickly follows. In addition to the convoluted mystery, I enjoyed following the series leads' progress on facing their personal demons and developing relationships.
