A Duckling Called Button follows A Piglet Called Truffle as the second in the Jasmine Green Rescues series of heartwarming chapter books for children aged seven to nine. Jasmine shares her love for animals with her farmer dad and veterinarian mom.

Jas and her best friend Tom are walking together when Bella Bradley's unleashed dog kills a duck (Bella is 'the most annoying girl in their class.') Jas and Tom search for the duck's nest and find four eggs, still warm. They borrow Tom's auntie's incubator and decide that any ducklings that hatch should imprint on Jasmine.

It's all very eggciting as Jas and Tom wait for the eggs to hatch. Finally, Button emerges, and becomes a school project for Jas as well as her companion. She almost loses him more than once but all's well that ends well.

There's a lot to learn about animal rescue from this series - and don't miss the Q&A with Jasmine Green at the back of the book for even more handy tips.
