Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent Duncan Kincaid, his wife, Detective Inspector Gemma James, and their children have been invited to Beck House in the British Cotswolds for a relaxing weekend.

If you have read enough of this wonderful series, you know that relaxing just can't happen for this duo. Guests of the wealthy and influential Talbots, Duncan and Gemma are soon called upon to help solve a murder.

A charity harvest luncheon is marred when a second murder occurs. Could the celebrity chef, Viv Holland, be responsible? The competition between well-known chefs brings luscious dishes for their fans, but would that result in murder?

The many local dishes described make me wish I were still capable of travel. My bags would be packed and my passport dusted off. I would also like to see the legendary Cotswolds that Crombie describes so well. A Bitter Feast is not to be missed.
