The unsolved murder of renowned physician, Dr. Martin Bell, really only has one suspect: his wife Kendra Bell. Dr. Bell's parents are urging the network to use the case as an episode on Under Suspicion and bring their son's killer to justice. Laurie Moran, the show's producer, agrees that it would make a perfect case for the show, but Kendra Bell refuses to sign off on the broadcast. And she doesn't want her in-laws to know she's the hold up.

When Kendra finally gives the go-ahead, Laurie and her production team begin the investigation the way they always do, following the clues wherever they lead. Early on readers realize there is danger to both Kendra and Laurie, but does it involve Dr. Bell's murder?

Kendra admits she was a wreck when her husband was killed. She had post-partum depression which went untreated because Martin didn't believe that was the cause of her erratic behavior. He preferred prescribing drugs instead of getting her the help she needed. Kendra who was only a step away from becoming a pediatrician when she became pregnant with Bobby, her first child, gave up her own career at Martin's insistence and became a stay at home mom. Baby Mindy was born soon after. It's also true that Kendra's a happier person now that Martin's dead, and a better mother.

Meanwhile, Laurie Moran's marriage to Judge Alex Buckley is coming up fast and her wedding plans are changing daily. A real estate agent has the couple running from apartment to apartment, hoping to find the perfect space for their future needs. This installment is an easy read, with suspense, mystery and a satisfying ending.
