Leo Pierson's Art Nouveau treasures have been stolen – his favorite and most valuable being a one-of-a-kind Lalique glass dragonfly. Leo has a potential buyer. If the treasures are not found by a certain date, he will lose the sale and his dreams of opening his own theater.

Leo approaches David Randall, PI of 302 Grace Street, where David lives and has his office. Leo is sure the dragonfly is cursed! David takes the case, knowing he is tied to Leo's deadline. But David did not know that Samuel Gallant of the museum board has just been found dead, stuffed in a closet at that museum! Changes the picture a bit.

Another interesting wrinkle is that David's landlord/consultant Camden is psychic and has had visions since birth. David knows these visions can foretell the future. Camden takes medication to lessen the occurrences and wrongly thinks that if one pill helps, two would be even better – to almost deadly consequences.

David and Camden take on the challenge of Gallant's murder which by now has included two friendly pythons! A television celebrity, Matt Grabber threatens to take over Camden's wife’s Psychic Service Network. Kit, a new tenant at 302 Grace Street, is a rock star and also a psychic.

With the findings of the PI and the help of a spirit from the Other Side, David neatly ties up each and every clue. Death by Dragonfly is the sixth of Jane Tesh's Grace Street mystery series, each one a good read.
