New York Times bestselling author Sheila Connolly has written a new series – Victorian Village Mysteries. Murder at the Mansion is the pilot for what I am sure will be your very favorite cozy. And it's just in time for beach season.

Katherine Hamilton spent her growing up years in Asheboro, Maryland. Now a successful business woman, she receives a call from her very best friend from those days. That friend feels that Kate can help the town of Asheboro avoid bankruptcy. At the same time, Kate has lost her job managing a high-end boutique hotel (due to restructuring), which leaves her free to agree to see what she can do to help.

Shortly after her arrival in Asheboro, Kate's high school nemesis, Cordelia Walker, is murdered. Cordelia has not gathered many friends to her side in her lifetime, but had planned to take over the outrageously posh historic Victorian mansion in the town to benefit herself – not the town.

Kate and her friend plot and plan, and are soon ready to outline a way to save the city, while at the same time giving the residents a new look at a possible future for the town that would benefit all. Of course, a murderer must also be found.

With the first page, I fell into this novel head over heels. The author's description of the mansion is sheer bliss to read of, and a murder to go with it is always appreciated by a mystery fan. Don't miss this one.
