What's a wife to do? If your husband is arrested, do you stand by him? Listen to him proclaim his innocence, unsure just what is happening? Discover that he has been cheating on you with other women while he declared his undying love for you?

Angela Powell met Jason while she was catering a dinner party. One thing led to another and they were married. She already had a son but the two of them were never able to have a child together. They had their problems like any other married couple. She found it hard to understand that a woman was accusing him of sexual harassment. Declaring his innocence, he denied ever doing what this woman accused him of.

Their lovely home and way of life is gone in an instant. Her son his stepson is angry and confused. But when a murder is committed, Angela realizes she must take a hand in proving her husband did not do it. Jason is arrested and Angela is determined to prove he is innocent. Can she?

Alafair Burke, a former prosecutor now teaching criminal law, has eleven novels to her credit. She co-authors the bestselling Under Suspicion series with Mary Higgins Clark. Where does she find the time? While I never felt a sense of urgency as I read The Wife, I still enjoyed it very much.
